The flower beds around the chapel and the shrine are maintained by volunteers from St. Annes's in the spirit of love to glorify Almighty God. There are regular outdoor processions and gatherings at the chapel. Weeding has to be done often during the warm months. Twice a year the beds have to be mulched. Trimming the bushes and trees is done at least monthly in the summer.
Annual flower plantings have proven to require too much attention as the heat of the summer necessitates frequent watering. Thus the plants chosen are native to the region requiring no manual watering. In addition, the beds were designed to have something blooming through-out the year except in the coldest months.
The grounds are mowed and edged by a Lawn Service but the removal of debris is our job.
More volunteers are always welcome.
